The IT Field Support Technician will support IT activities in Herdrich?s Retail convenience stores and restaurants and the Herdrich Petroleum Store Support Center. The ideal candidate for this position must be able to think outside of the box, possess a wide variety of skills, be able to work through difficult problems, and thrive under pressure. This position?s main duties will be installation, maintenance and repairs of: Point-of-Sale systems, back-office PCs, digital recording systems and cameras, and various other types of equipment found in retail and commercial fueling facilities. Work rotation may include after-hours work as needed.
The IT Field Technician will report to the IT Director.
Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
Assisting users with Microsoft Office issues
Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals
Resolves internal user problems and ensures correct operation of computer systems
Installation and troubleshooting of IP cameras and digital surveillance equipment
Troubleshoot and resolve network issues such as connectivity (LAN and WAN), switching and routing
Installation & upgrades to various desktop operating systems including Windows XP, 7, 8, and 10
Troubleshoot and repair of daily issues that arise during fueling and/or retail operations.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned by management
Documents and verifies equipment problems and repairs, escalates to vendors when needed
Develop technical process and procedure documentation, as well as end-user documentation
Working Conditions
Must be able to carry and/or lift tools, equipment or parts of up to 50 lbs.
Thorough understanding of basic computer/network concepts and terms
Must have a valid Driver License and able to maintain a clean driving record
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to travel daily
Must be able to work face to face with Herdrich?s personnel on a regular basis, providing training and systems support, and able to communicate technical information in a neutral and professional manner
Must be able to work without much direct supervision on a daily basis
Project management skills are helpful, as many projects involve ensuring that equipment from multiple vendors is installed properly and working together
Must be able to work, track progress and stay updated on multiple tasks at the same time
Job Specifications
Education and Experience:
Minimum of an Associate degree and/or 4+ years? experience in field support / customer support type position
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Team player. Detail oriented to ensure accuracy of work. Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills. Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must maintain a high degree of professionalism in actions, demeanor and dress. Maintain parts and inventory control, appearance and maintenance of service vehicle. Prior experience in the petroleum industry with VeriFone Commander and Factor back office software is a plus, but not a requirement.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
